The civil marriage of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier took place in the palace throne room on the morning of April 18, 1956.
The 40-minute ceremony was performed in front of approximately 80 guests by Monaco’s highest legal authority, the minister of justice.
After taking their vows, the couple was pronounced legally married.

Rest, relax and think of me burning myself out with this terrible longing for you. I love you so».
